Fort Restwood Manor by Joe Perez
Charlie Maddox, Sr. is a senior citizen who is more “active” than his family would like him to be. His intolerant son, Charles, Jr., has warned him about being “asked to leave one more retirement home.” However, Charlie is not known for playing by the rules. In fact, his motto is “I’m too old to behave!”
When they visit the beautiful Restwood Manor it looks like Sr. and Jr. may both finally be satisfied. Charlie quickly makes friends with the interesting mix of residents to include Colonel Billington (a storyteller who unfortunately often loses his place in the middle of the story) and the scrawny Mr. Peabody (who has a penchant for exaggeration whether it his body-building exploits or his prior career as an advertising executive). Not only does Charlie have the admiration of the males, but the adoration of the females, Millie and Alicia, who find his flirting fun and makes them feel young again.
Unfortunately, this bliss is short lived when the idyllic retirement home is the target of a hostile takeover by the greedy, Mr. Thurgood. Will the residents go peacefully along with his changes?
Will Charlie’s grandson and Millie’s granddaughter who come visit to do a historic interview-your-grandparent assignment take Charlie's side or Mr. Thurgood’s?
Who will come out on top of this zany comedy? Will Restwood Manor EVER be the same?
